Description
Anatomy is the study of the structure of the human body whilst Physiology is the study of the body functions.
This level 3 anatomy, physiology and pathology course is a prerequisite to studying many vocational qualifications and is designed for students from disciplines such as Massage, Reflexology, Kinesiology, Beauty therapy, Yoga, Bowen technique, Aromatherapy, Fitness and Personal Training as well as entry into training for careers such as paramedic and physio assistant. Our students are men and women in their 20’s -60’s often fed up with the 9-5 grind and looking for a career change.
This course follows the latest scheme of work set by ITEC, ensuring you study to the highest standards. You will gain an in depth knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology as well as Pathology (which is the study of diseases and disorders) of the following body systems: Skeletal, Muscular, Cardiovascular, Respiratory, Endocrine, Skin, Cells, Reproductive, Urinary, Neurological, Digestive and Lymphatic.
Course methodology:
The course includes:
- 20 recorded classes by videoconference ;
- Revision templates to help consolidate the information;
- E-mail support with tutors and other students;
- Self-assessment: sample questions on each system to help to prepare you for the end exam.
You will have to purchase the ITEC study book: An Introductory Guide to Anatomy and Physiology by Louise Tucker. The latest version is the 5th edition, but other versions are also valid. A guided price is 22.16 € in Amazon.
The Anatomy and Physiology e-learning package is fun, inspirational and designed to be available for you up to one year. It has all the benefits of distance learning with regards to studying at your own rhythm and it has the advantage of guidance by your tutor via e-mail or in the forum of the online platform.
Evaluation: online with 50 multiple choice questions
Inhouse certification: downloadable certificate in Anatomy, Physiology and pathology
ITEC certification:
ITEC Exam (optional): Taking the ITEC exam is optional. Students will be able to use their in-house certificates as proof of studying anatomy. However, the ITEC diploma is good for:
- Worldwide recognition, especially in all the English speaking countries
- Prestige, as ITEC is known for its high level of professionalism
- Studying further into ITEC levels in any of the more than 600 ITEC schools in the world
